Bob Stei is an excellent weekender on ZZO with a lot of experience in Baltimore and Philly. He deserves a promotion. He needs a FT weekday shift!
 
Seriously, are you kidding? Have you actually LISTENED to him, or did he just put you on the air once with one of his 5 minute phone conversations about nothing? I don't mean to flame, but if you actually LISTEN to jocks, and understand radio jocks, then you would know the difference between a good jock and one who thinks he's a good jock. I've heard first year jocks on MUH better then Stei, and they don't have an ego! Street teams in Philly doesn't qualify one to be full time in Allentown, you also need talent.

i don't think the dude ever cracked the mic on in phila or bal. doing internships does not give you major market experience.
 
Well, as a woman who worked with Bob in the past I'm truly amazed on these posts. Sure, everyone has a right to their opinion. But, some of the posts seem personal and are full of lies. Let me help you out a bit, if I can defend my former co-worker and friend..

1- Bob has been on-air in other markets prior to his time in Allentown. He worked at WBAB in Long Island hosting overnights for a bit. He actually drove from Philadelphia to Long Island every weekend just to do this.

2- Bob did work behind the scenes in Phialdelphia and Baltimore and a few other cities. Where is the harm in that?

3- I disagree about his on-air work, and agree with the OP. Everyone who has worked with him finds him sharp, funny and full of passion for the industry. Once again, we all have opinions.

I'm not sure what you guys achomplished by bashing the man. Shouldn't you feel secure enough in your own work- if you have a gig? But slandering a poor dj just trying to make it.. Shame!

i think the reason for the reaction is that "drpickle" is soooo wrong about Stei's "talent." fine, he drove from PA to Long Island to do part-time work on WBAB and he has a lot of "passion" for the business...but he's simply horrible on the air....cheesy as hell....and there's like a vague speech impediment or something. maybe a lisp? i can't put my finger on it, but it's distracting. his view of the industry, and specifically his place in it, is so wacked it's scary. he just doesn't get it and nobody over at ZZO is willing/able to truly help him.
 
That is very crude and personal. Not lenjoyiong a part-time jock is one thing but this is over the line. What station are you on? What shift? I want to hear how you are.
 
this is getting funny people defending insignificant pt people on radio stations that don't really matter. voice tracking rules!!!!! with jocks with good pipes
 
First of all, I know Mr. Stei VERY well, and he does NOT have a speech impediment. 2nd, why would having a speech impediment make or break your opinion on a jock, full or part time? What difference does it make? Now for the age old question: IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU ARE HEARING, WHY ARE YOU STILL LISTENING?

I agree- can we delete this and let the guy do his job. To the unnamed posters- work hard and maybe you'll get a break one day too.
 
There's no reason we need to lock or remove this post. It's obviously all opinion. And there's no 'slander' (it would actually be Libel, since its written). No one is interfering with his personal life, and since the "Bob Stei on ZZO" is a public figure, it wouldn't hold up.
Some people like Stei, some people don't. No reason this should be censored or considered taboo.
 
CatFud, just because you didn't get along with Stei when you worked with him doesn't give you the right to slam him on a public forum. I am sure you are jealous that he is a successful PT jock on air at ZZO while you are probably doing behind the scenes work at a competing station.

Please let it go. He is on air and you are not. End of story

This was on TIOS but I feel it should be here. A very happy ending to a lot of bashing on a very good DJ who didn't deserve it. I emailed Bob this as well. As Catfur said let's talk radio now! I think this was bold.

Well, ok lets talk full time. Lets talk Tori Thomas. I like Tori Thomas. I think she's great. Some folks dont like her and were bad mouthing her at a local bar. But, I stood up for Tori. She's a woman of class! She has character!
 
i would agree. i also here stosh may be back on in the lv. he is a great personality and i am suprised zzo didn't try to get him back.

I dont want to hear about how cute she is and how much she loves to ROCK. Everyone loves to rock...no one gives a crap though. Talk about pop culture, finding out your first boyfriend is really gay, make a joke that doest have to do with how old the rolling stones are or how crazy ozzy is....be creative.....who wants to listen to the ROCK RADIO VIXEN crap anymore, it's played out. It's all been done before. Tori needs to step down and get out of radio. She's nothing special.
