Bob The Blade is back in the triangle this time on 96 Rock. Blade will be joining program director Foster in the afternoon drive weekdays 2-6PM here is the press release:
Bob The Blade Robinson Returns to Raleigh for afternoon Drive on 96 Rock
Raleigh, NC ( January 23, 2008)- "Bob The Blade" Robinson, a fixture on Raleigh-Durham Rock Radio for more than twenty years, will soon return the market on Curtis Medias 96 Rock (WBBB). Robinson joins the station after a year hosting afternoons on Beasley Broadcastings WSFL Greenville- New Bern. Prior to that he held various on-air positions at legendary rock station WRDU but resigned when Clear Channel changed the format to country in November, 2006. Robinson is well known to North Carolina radio listeners, and his abrupt departure from WRDU prompted weeks of speculation as to whether he'd ever be back on the air.
In his new position, Robinson will join current 96 Rock afternoon personality Foster weekdays from 2:00PM- 6:00PM. Its the first two person radio program outside of morning drive in the market and suggest listeners can expect more personality with their regular dose of " Everything That Rocks".
Robinson calls the concept groundbreaking for a market the size of Raleigh-Durham. " Its just perfect. I am really so lucky to work for a station and team that truly gets how to do local radio".
Foster, also the stations program director, says he has no problem sharing the microphone with a legendary talent like Bob The Blade. " Blade solidifies our lineup of outstanding lineup of live and local personalities playing Everything That Rocks", says Foster. " Besides, I was getting tired of talking to a wall and laughing at my own material". Foster and The Blade debut together Monday February 4th.
