Bob Uhhhhhhhhhh

Caught WWL last night. When are they going to do something with nights at 8pm? Was listening at 930pm and between 940pm-1000pm started counting the "uhhhs" out of his mouth. In a 14 minute span, he spit out 78 of them. Tough to count and drive. Isn't there something better to talk about than "what's your favorite metermaid story" pal. Weak, lame and no-talent doesn't do this person justice. Obvisously, he can't carry a show by himself. Lost without out Vinny and his last pd giving him masterful direction. Then, you have the board-op butting in with his comment which made no sense. You're a board-op for a reason...SHUT UP! Do us a favorite, put Delke on for 4 hours. Something we can stomach. Dead air would be an improvement and could get better ratings than Mitchell.

I just can't understand why a credible outfit like WWL would put an ignorant airhead on to do a talk show. The man, a career top-40 card reader, has no brains beyond "Uhhhhh...what's goin' on pal?" WWL continues to show the audience how brain dead their programmers are, while wasting two hours a night on a clear channel frequency with this idiot.

well whose left around here? syndication is full in town. bill o reilly, dave ramsey, andre ;D :D..whats left to put on 870 at night? sporting news radio?

Lure Kaare Johnson from The Mighty 690 back to The Big 870.

Time will take care of Bob D. He's not going to do this forever, but he has been a consistent ratings winner.

The problem with this board is that all of you guys (with the exception of one poster I can think of) are too smart. You know too much. You don't listen to radio like the average "Joe" or "Jane" because you've been or are on the inside. You expect too much.

You know how the "sausage is made" and you know what went into what comes out of the radio.

Let's be honest, most of the general public doesn't really want great radio... or at least they'll accept and respond to whatever they are served up. Listen to how horrific FM morning shows have become...”Zoo’s” and the like… the “Stern-ization of radio… stupid talk punctuated by an occasional song. XM and Sirius are clearly options but the lagging sales have proven that the public really doesn't care to spend money for "better" radio. IMHO, NPR (Morning Edition, All things Considered, etc.) is the best produced, best delivered, best example of what radio news, information and talk can be… but few people bother to listen.

The fact is we live in a “microwave” world where everyone has been conditioned to accept “fast” over “good.”

The job of PD’s at Entercom, CC, Citidel, EVERYWHERE, is to get great ratings, and if great radio happens too, and it often does as we saw just post-Katrina, then great… but great radio without ratings gets PD’s fired. I know all of you guys know this; I just think sometimes it’s forgotten.

Woops.
I got this board confused with the one bashing Bob D, but the same still applies for Mitchell.
One other thing. I don't think we need any more syndicated shows on the air, certainly not on WWL. If there is a bright spot it's that while most stations go syndicated or "best of" at night, WWL is still committed to local personalities even though it's more expensive than say an Ingraham or another syndicated program. It's nice that they are local and live until midnight...

Boy is KSW right - I HATE syndicated programming. The local guys like Deke, Bobby, Hokie, Mitchell, and Wilkie are THE BEST - no one in syndication can compare. Long live Mitchell!

Has Kenny Wilkerson ever completed a sentence?

Are you kidding? This has to be a joke. Wilkie is the finest, smoothest, most “in the know” broadcaster in town. NO ONE knows the Saints better, and no one is a better technical broadcaster. You are kidding, IamDumbRadioGuy, aren’t you? I sure hope so - LONG LIVE WILKIE!
