BOB WILKINS-Host Of CREATURE FEATURES Passes Away At Age 76

I just found out that Northern California Horror Movie TV Host, BOB WILKINS passed away today at the age of 76 after suffering from ALZHEIMERS DISEASE in RENO, NEVADA. Bob was the host of SEVEN ARTS THEATRE on KCRA TV Channel 3- Sacramento from 1966-70 then jumped to then Independent TV Station KTXL TV 40 from 1970-81. Bob also hosted CREATURE FEATURES on KTVU TV Channel 2 from 1971-79 as well as was Kiddie Host, CAPTAIN COSMIC, also on KTVU. Just last year, His Best Friend (As Well As BEST MAN At His Wedding), HARRY MARTIN passed away last year. Very Sad!

KTXL has a section on their website referencing Bob's death, but KTVU has absolutely nothing on theirs. Not even a small paragraph under entertainment or news stories. What gives? I'll have to check the 10 O'Clock News tonight to see if anything is mentioned.

It's posted on the KTVU website now (see link below). I appreciated Bob's very dry humor...and the huge cigar was a great prop.

A unique individual - but one of a great breed of talented people you used to see at independent TV stations all over America - often pulling double or triple duty as staff announcers, kid-show hosts, and more. LA had 4 indy stations when I was growing up, and each station had at least one of two of these guys...always men of course, in those days. Pat McCormick was another, here at KTVU - doing the Dialing for Dollars Movie in the afternoon and the weather on the 10 O'Clock News.
