Bob Woodruff hurt in Iraq

Update: 2:45 P.M. EST: Bob Woodruff and cameraman Doug Vogt are out of surgery and are described as being in stable condition.

They will probably be flown, perhaps as soon as late tonight, to a U.S. military hospital in Europe.

I would suspect as soon as his recovery would permit him to be interviewed, ABC will broadcast a prime-time special in which Elizabeth Vargas or Barbara Walters will talk to Woodruff on a two-way video circuit between New York and the military hospital where he'll be moved to.

Such a interview might occur and be broadcast sometime later this coming week (January 30th-February 3rd).

If you throw enough theories at the wall, something is bound to stick sooner or later.

I send my thoughts and prayers to Mr. Woordruff, Mr. Vogt and their families.

Boston's ABC affiliate, WCVB, just led off their Sunday 6pm news (which started late due to a sporting event) with this story.

WHDH, Channel 7 and an NBC affiliate, did not lead off the broadcast with this story but did have a piece narrated by anchor Nichelle King.

WBZ, Channel 4 and a CBS affiliate, is currently airing an NBC golf event.

Here in Phoenix, ABC15 led off with the story even though World News Tonight with Elizabeth Vargas immediately preceded the local newscast.

On the other hand, it was the 3rd story on the NBC affliate, KPNX.

WNBC's 6PM had it as story 1 or 2, I am sort of fuzzy on this as I also watched their 11, when they lead with the NYPD friendly fire shooting, with Woodruff second.

WABC lead with the story on their delayed 6PM. At 11 they had some good commentary from Jim Dolan who had a close call in Iraq last year.

Don't know about WCBS, as I really don't think anyone watches them.<P ID="signature">______________

A video-link between NYC and the hospital??!! WTF?!!

You really need to stop with this tabloid-like assuming Joseph. A News Director in their right mind wouldn't stoop to this level. They'll wait until he's out of the hospital. I don't doubt Woodruff and his cameraman would be more than willing to tell their story.
