Cox won 2,504 regular-season games over a 29-year career as a manager with the Atlanta Braves (1978–1981, 1990–2010) and Toronto Blue Jays (1982–1985). He led the Blue Jays to their first AL East division title in '85, and a decade later piloted the Braves to their lone World Series win during their "America's Team" era. He also holds the MLB record for most times being thrown out of a game as a manager (162). He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.
