Bohemia Visual Music on AZ-TV in 2008?

That's according to a Wikipedia contributor who seems to at least be a huge fan of BVM, and may even be connected with Jeff & Jennifer Crawfords, owners of BVM. He claims that KAZT will add BVM on channel 7.3 on Feb. 1. That's either a wild rumor or a serious scoop, as I cannot find that news on either the KAZT or BVM websites, but I find the story credible, as the contributor seems to have a lot of inside information on BVM and the Crawfords, plus BVM would fit right in with KAZT's other youth-oriented trends, such as Cribs and Pimp My Ride.

Bohemia Visual Music was an all-music video service that aired on KPHE-LP channel 19 and later channel 44 from 2003 until 2006, when KPHE dropped them in favor of Spanish-language religious programming. KPHE has since picked up a Multimedios TV affiliation. After losing KPHE, BVM got their service on KORS-CA digital subchannel 16.2 in Portland, Oregon. The same Wikipedian claims that BVM will also launch in the Los Angeles area on a digital subchannel of KDOC.

Who knows whether or not BVM will show up on KAZT DT3, but we will find out February 1 (their stated launch date). If so, the question would be whether or not they'll be running their programming off a DVD jukebox like they did when they were on KPHE, or do they have a "live" control room these days. They'll have to follow FCC "E/I" programming rules too, since full-service TV's and Class A's have to air three hours each week on each subchannel.

Personally, I kind of like the Equity Broadcasting "Retro Jams" concept which can be seen on low-power 25 in North Phoenix, except for the repetition. I noticed during their hourly ID that it shows them being on KVPA-LP 42 off South Mountain, but the last time I checked that station (which I can't receive well), they were still airing LAT TV programming.

I wonder if we'll be seeing "LATV" coming to a digital subchannel in Phoenix in 2008? The service is in many major Hispanic markets already, but not Phoenix. I can see KASW-DT picking it up, since a majority of the stations that carry them are English-language, and that Belo is still looking for subchannel content for its stations.

Correct. I was reporting what I'd read; the question was rhetorical.

As for K25DM, I was in the Spectrum Mall area last night and had my laptop with me, so I stopped to check it out. It was an infomercial (annoying) featuring Tony Little (doubly annoying), so I'll have to take your word for it that it's Retro Jams, which I mistakenly thought was just a show on the Retro Television Network. (I've been incorrectly identifying K28FM Yuma as RTN; last I checked, the show airing was Retro Jams, which I thought was RTN.) KVPA-LP is a Lat TV O&O, so it will be Lat TV as long as the network exists and Latin America Broadcasting owns it.

Like you, I'm surprised LATV isn't in Phoenix. It's in Tucson as a subchannel of CW affiliate KWBA, in Yuma as a subchannel of NBC affiliate KYMA, and in Las Vegas as a subchannel of CBS affiliate KLAS. It would be a great fit for KASW as a CW primary, or even KTVK. I'm also surprised Fox hasn't put a subchannel on KSAZ or KUTP either.
