Idaho Boise HD radio. On. Off. On again.....wait!

Seems The River, Bob and My 102.7 HD has been going off a lot lately. I thought my car stereo was malfunctioning, but I jumped in my wife's car and it was the same situation. I'm honestly curious, when different (clustered) stations share a tower (which a ton of stations do), do they share an HD processor (is processor even the right term)?

Stations don't share a processor or transmitter, but as you said, they share sites and can share antennas as well. Many backup facilities don't have HD transmitters, usually relying on older equipment that used to be the main, now passed down to standby service. This is especially true when there are no translators to be fed. As boiseengineer mentioned, when workers are present on the tower, they switch over to those other backup facilities. In this case, I would guess they are on another tower nearby.

And, let's face it, there is only so much time in the year for tower work to be done in places like ID and MT. That season is short, my friends. You gotta strike while the iron is not freezing.
