Bold Gold snatches up the trio. Good for Bold Gold and goodbye Ira. The damage is done but maybe the Bold Gold guys can bring some class and professionalism back to these stations. Good for radio and NEPA.
Personally, I don't think the Bold Gold crew has the savvy to do anything significant with these properties. IMHO they got lucky with The River and if they lose their morning show they have nothing.
Kudos to the Bold Gold crew for the purchase. You are extremely fortunate to have two of the most intelligent, hard working radio professionals now in your fold.
Perhaps Bold Gold will treat Paula and Ellen as the classy professionals that they really are and will appreciate their hard work and dedication to the stations from which they share obvious passion.
Depending on their plans Bold Gold might do well to make some discreet inquiries around the market about staffing a morning show. There may be some folks who are or will soon be eligible to cross the street and who may be of a mind to do so.
This has to be the least talked about sale in local broadcasting history. The news came out a couple weeks ago, and there have been very few posts. Does anyone care?

I think you hit it on the nail. No one cares. Did Bobby the V own WCDL years back when he and his partner owned WSGD? I was amused reading an earlier post about "maybe they can bring some professionalism to the area" Now THAT is funny. Apparently they don't know Bold Gold and Mr."V." If they had any brains...they wound not buy WCDL, and some fo the other toliets, I mean stations they did. If they ever decide to bring back WKRP on TV, they need to have it run by the Bond Gold "professionals." Dr. Johnny Fever would be very popular here in the great North East.
I don't know the individuals involved. As a listener, the River is enjoyable. There's a decent amount of local content on the AM sports stations, and that's good. I sincerely hope BG can do something with the new stations.
