Bomba 99.5 Meridan signed on the air

With 50 watts from West Peak early reception reports seem promising. We had calls from as far South as Orange ...proof that height is might. Let me know how it is coming in for you.

A little disapointed on the coverage in Waterbury specially where the spanish population lives, south main, willow, etc. But at least it works good in the highway. I'll be listening every day in my way to Hartford

man the spacing on 99.3 WLZX sucks now and WPLR on the other side making it more difficult to get south of Hartford and down towards Meriden. Lazer is all we got now for active rock south of Maine/NH if I am not mistaken

I'm getting a scratchy stereo signal here in the south end of New Britain. Something sounds odd about the sound at the far edges in the headphones. I get almost the same signal from the existing 97.1 signal in Bolton, but without the odd sound at the far edges. ???

P.S. Where, exactly, is MERIDAN? :D

So long OTA WBAI, looks like it's internet only from now on. Also, the challenge I had for the new 99.5 was to see if I could still pull in the headsets at Burger King in Cromwell, I can, but only right in front of the window and only when the repeater is at full key, when it's not, I get snow, and then as I pull away from the order window, it's all gone and nothing but West Peak.

I wonder how the still random and occasional folks at WNFR are dealing with this? ;)

what are the costs to maintain a x-lator?? light, tower etc.
