Bongino

Great follow-up story on the Dan Bongino threat to quit over covid rules:

Like so many of his kind, he's all talk and no action.
But Bongino is also with Fox News where they have a vaccine mandate, so his rants went nowhere except hype up governors and congressional rallies in 2022. It's all about hyping up elections also make certain officials look more radical than Trump.

People outside the business have little of corporate names. Ask any random 100 people in your downtown who owns News-Talk (pick a number) and they likely wouldn't know. Same with the TV stations. Listeners know the Bongino name (maybe not all). As loud and obnoxious as they are, anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers represent a tiny percentage of the population. Corporate isn't going to say to a workforce which largely does not consist of anti-vaxxers "we told you we were going to protect you as best we could, well now, because our right wing talk show host complained, we're gonna let COVID rip in your workspace"

Does he actually go into a Fox office? I don't believe he goes into a Cumulus office. Yes, Fox actually strengthened its vaccine mandate. Shocking as it is to some, the entirety of Fox Broadcasting is not FNC.

Thats the part I heard stuff that some of the talk show hosts do not really go to the Fox News offices. Cavuto does, Chris Wallace did go to the Fox Office before he left.

I don't know about others though.

1:25 of this clip indicated that some of Fox News Talk Pundits does not even enter the Fox News office. However, we know Neil Cavuto enters the Fox News New York Offices because he came forward with his vaccine status. However for some pundits we are not even sure in Bongino case given that he is one of the pundits whining about vaccine mandates .

The New Yorker has done an analysis of Dan Bongino, and how he's built a multi-platform media empire.

Apparently Bongino's show has changed NYC affiliates as of today. It's now heard on 103.9 WFAS-FM.

In addition NPR interviewed the writer of the New Yorker story:

Technically, Bongino and the other Cumulus - Westwood One hosts (Chris Plante, Jim Bohannon, Red Eye Radio, Michael Knowles, America in the Morning and First Light) gained a new NYC affiliate this week, 103.9 WFAS-FM (formerly WNBM). It switched from a largely automated Urban AC station with minimal ratings to a simulcast of 1230 WFAS White Plains.

Mark Levin is carried on 770 WABC so he doesn't air on these two Cumulus stations. And I guess it's OK for Ben Shapiro to be on WFAS-AM-FM live in afternoon drive time and to run delayed in the evening on 970 WNYM? To plug in the time gap for Levin, WFAS-FM runs CBS Sports Radio in the early evening, and the same for weekends.

1230 WFAS simply runs all the Westwood One content, plus USA Radio News on the hour. There's no local news, weather, traffic or even commercials. When the network gives local stations an avail, WFAS runs a PSA. It does do legal I.D.'s and occasionally airs brief promos. But that's it.

Will the addition of an FM signal, will WFAS add some local content? We don't know. But we do know that Bongino, now with a NYC FM outlet (although only a Class A with its tower in the Bronx) doesn't appear ready to quit his job over vaccine mandates.

But just you wait. I'm sure he's working on something big to get back at those evil corporate overlords who are likely paying him more money than he's ever made in his life!

That situation is apparently changing. Shapiro isn't listed on the WNYM website anymore. There's a gap from 5 to 7PM where he used to be.

Will the addition of an FM signal, will WFAS add some local content?

Very doubtful. There is no requirement that they add local content. Keep in mind the PSAs are fed from the network to fill the local availabilities. They don't originate from WFAS.

Bongino suspended and demonetized from YouTube.

Apparently it's only for 30 days. This is "strike 1" under the company's three strikes policy.

It still makes me wonder why these people who have no medical knowledge or experience feel qualified to tell others how to handle a medical emergency. The last person I would go to for cancer advice would be a talk show host.

Just this week, the CDC revised its mask guidance:

Just obstinance. "You're not the boss a' me!". Going back to the beginning of the pandemic when there were no vaccines or treatments. "I have a constitutional right to have a poor person serve me all you can eat ribs for $11.99!"

Bongino suspended and demonetized from YouTube. Of course, that'll give Bongino ample time to complain about being silenced and tech companies must be forced to allow absolutely all speech including violent threats and misinformation, and force me to see them. YouTube suspends and demonetises Dan Bongino’s account over Covid misinformation
Hey, I'm not a Bongino fan, but please be fair. If you can find a Bongino quote that suggests he's in favor of allowing the posting of violent threats, let's hear it. Just saying things doesn't make them true. That's what leads to misinformation.
