Bonneville's email to employees about drastic cuts

Salary reductions for higher-paid employees as well as changes to vacations and acquired time off, and terminating the company-sponsored health-club memberships.

"...slow economic indices and market conditions that are producing below-projected revenues industry-wide."

Only a matter of time for layoffs. :'(

Here is a news article from Salt Lake City, headquarters of Bonneville: http://www.sltrib.com/business/ci_12949569

Summary of cuts/changes listed in the article:

  • 5% cut in pay for employees who make >$50k
  • Slowing rate of vacation accrual
  • Eliminating company-supported health-club memberships
  • Reducing the value of food vouchers given to employees at Thanksgiving and Christmas time

Doesn't appear that layoffs are looming, but Bonneville is definitely clamping down on spending. Compared to Cheap Channel and SeeBS, Bonneville still looks like a great place to work.

No people cuts....yet. However TMISU have a lot of bodies in their news and sports departments as well as fulltime personalities on KT'R-FM. Kinda hard to justify local programming after 7pm. YIKES...that's so evil of Nurse Jeff and me to say!

Ah, but Dr...Crummy isn't local!! He works, plays and stays in El Lay! ;D How eeeeevvvvil of me to say.

I'm sure they will.

I wonder how long the Dumberer and Dumbest duo will last in the current economic downturn? I can just as easily turn the dial with only one of them on air in PMD. ;D

The Nurse and I can't imagine Gaydos rolling 3 to 7, 3 to 7, 3 to 7 as a solo act. As far as Mac goes...been there, done that. Guess that makes them a twofer if TMISU need a little more belt cinching! What a shame that would be ;)

(personal to KOHS...we'll glady reinstate you at the Buckeye Media Hut if you'll refrain from paying your tuition with California IOUs)

Yo Doc--if Guv Jan wants to take a course at the Hut, will you let her post-pay
for it with funds she thinks she's going to get :D from her sales tax referendum?

I figure you and the nurse will demand cash up front and will tell her to get it
out of Joke Arpaio's latest slush fund.

How does The Peak look staffing wise? Do Monica, Steve, or Mini pull double duty for anything else... production? APD? Music Director? It's a great station, would hate to see anyone get cut from that station!

When did the old staffers get blown out at the peak? I worked there with a few of them when it was still the 70's station. (what a bad idea that was)
