Bonneville's moral compass: WTF?

Cardinals (metaphorically) killed in historic NFL loss:
Hours of on-air listener calls

20 schoolkids literally killed on one of the most tragic days in U.S. history:
No listener calls - caller moratorium extended

What part of this did I get wrong? ???

And Ramsey as scheduled at 7pm, because breaking news doesn't break after 7pm on 92.3.

What an absoutely embarrassing day to have heard 92.3 today. Lots of people tossing around the word "coward" today - it doesn't get any more cowardly than a "TALK RADIO" station hiding behind social media to avoid interacting with listeners on-air. It's really going to suck for Jay tomorrow, since he'll get all the overflow Dumb & Dumber swept under the carpet for him.

The other talk station in town kept it's comedy morning show going on during this tragic news event. Was that a tape? "Wine and cheeseburger Fridays" when children are being killed???

tragedy started at 9:40 Eastern time so 8 am AZ time? stations were still laughing and joking...and playing canned applause sound effects? Very poor taste. Think some people need to retire now.

I'm not being callous here but what does station management expect callers to say:

1. Hang the dude!
2. No, cut him up THEN hang the dude!
3. I been to CT once but dunno where Newton....er, Newtown is.
4. OMG! I've got 3 kids and I don't know what I'd do if........

No caller into Phoenix radio is going to have any accurate information that hasn't already been aired by the hundreds of media type already on the ground in CT.

So what purpose is served by putting Aunt Edna on the air here?

What the hell are you SUPPOSED to say at a time like this??? This event happened while I was working today. I didn't learn of it 'til lunchtime...and felt like not going back to work afterwards, but I did anyway. Gotta earn money to pay the bills.

I listened to Mac & Gaydos on the way home. I'm not really a fan of their show; I'd prefer an afternoon news block. They brought me up to speed on the day's events...fairly tastefully, I might add. My journey home lasted about 40 minutes, just about the time I was ready to turn it off, because I couldn't stand the story anymore...It's just that type of event that you have to step away and get your bearings. I fail to see what listener comments would add to the discussion and information at that particular point. If I want to find out what my friends think, I can turn to social media...and I did. I learned a lot. And I can tell you it was a lot more than the "bloviators" of talk radio could contribute...they are part of the underlying problem!

I'll say a prayer tonight...for the victims' loved ones, the people of Connecticut, and moms, dads and grandparents everywhere... If you are so moved, I hope you'll join in, too...

This is AZ, if you accept calls, you will get the usual nuts "Obama caused this, it is a conspiracy to take our guns!" etc, etc, etc.

I don't need to hear Cleetus calling up to rant on a day like today.

"I spilled ranch dressing from my cheeseburger in my lap..." guess people would rather hear that than something about a shooting of school kids in the country??
(Limbaughism: "young skulls full of mush??")
