Ok here goes, not having been privy to the latest trends, how do YOU think the book will turn out? Heres my guess.
Not only have you obviously not been privy to any trends...you obviously have not been privy to any ratings books or
a radio, for that matter.
Kinda' Vague...then again, up from the cellar isn't much of a stretch. With a new morning "
show" just now trying to feel it's way out, and a new P.D. trying to establish a station identity...might be a bit early to predict much of a solid direction, However it does sound like a station finally heading in some sorta direction.
WOW! way to go out on a limb here...considering they've stayed put almost since the inception of F.M. radio!
98 Rock loses a few, mornings are getting boring.
Just looking at the decline in 12+ numbers over the last 4 books...doesn't seem like such a crazy prediction. However to blame it on the "mornings getting boring" might seem like somewhat of an uneducated guess, considering by all accounts the morning show still consistently out-performs the station as a whole. More likely would be the lack of quality
rock product as of late.
I can only assume you're still catching up on your reading...might be a few months late on this prediction. Not quite sure why Entercom would want to flip a station with the most signifigant ratings gains in the market!?
Not to mention, whether some of us like it or not...a station that honestly sounds better than it has in many years, and just might give KSFM some competition.
Holding strong has not exactly been this stations M.O. over the years. Their ratings and their stationality has been about as predictable as an earthquake. A strong showing in the summer book would be a relatively big surprise! Especially with an over-hyped morning man, with no real history of out-performing any station he resides at!
Again, not a huge stretch here...A heritage station with a proven track record maintaining their position, despite an upstart direct competitor...could eventually feel the pinch, but probably not yet...time will tell!
The Eagle stays where it is
Another relatively safe prediction here...The Eagle has maintained a fairly consistent place in the market, a little up, a little down, yet consistently a solid performer. Ironically their biggest threat seems to originate from the same spot on Madison, with 98 sharing a fair amount of their classic rock library. Should be fun to see how this one shakes out!
The Wolf comes up, new jocks sound pretty good and fun.
Up a little...down a little...such is the story for an upstart trying to de-throne the "Big Dog"!
quality air-talent and a consitent product will make or brake this station. And maybe a little "ol' school guerilla marketing!" If nothing else it will shake up and wake up the sacramento radio market.
Uhhhh...from a 0.0 in the last fall book, sure they'll come up...but if an arbitron diary falls in the forest will anybody hear it????
Holding strong to what?? With a morning show holding on to half of a highly over-rated duo...and trying to plug in whatever sales schmuck they have handy! A less than 2 share morning show doesn't exactly bestow confidence! Maybe it's not too early to start the Christmas Music...probably the only chance they have!!!
Regardless...you conveniently left out two of the markets most consistent competitors...KSFM and KSSJ. Both of which will most likely be players in the next book.
I think I have an idea as to why you're looking for part-time work...you have no concept of programming...best of luck to you!!!
