book promotions

Seems that the big promotions are a thing of the past. I'm surprised OOF is spending cash, they don't seem to need to unless it's just habit. Have I missed anything big? I've not even heard about any traded motor cycles or that kind of trade. There seem to be live event promotions like concerts and stuff but where's the rest of it? What have I missed? I mean I've got my cash card but I don't give a hoot about the WWE or standing up for two hours while being crushed to death by teenagers who are getting off to over volumed and poorly processed live music. Is that it? Is that all there's going to be? Listen for the dog to howl and in between try and snag a burger from Crystal or Checkers?

Speaking of live concerts, a question just occurred. Why is KMX promoting a benefit concert for EHS (props to them if all ticket sales and concession profits go to EHS) but holding it at Ft. Rucker? Talk about a bummer, how fun would Woodstock have been if you'd have had to pass through military security on the way?

Still a lot of things not in order for the EHS concert either, seems a change of venue and some local band knocked out of their opening spot after they have been on KMX a couple of times and were "promised" the opening act, now someone else promoting the concert and they have been knocked out. Lot of confusion about this big benefit concert. And yea, things are a little boring on the front lines Stewy, ya ain't missed much.

Maybe they will hand out tabs of acid like the CIA did at Woodstock :)

I heard you can qualify to listen to win a chance at getting some fake money to bid on substandard prizes
in a lame auction on one of the stations.

Woof continues to do good radio, budgeting the same $$ every year for promotions, understanding it is a cost
of doing business.

WDJR had a good book last time with no promotions so they will never get a promotional budget ever again.

Radio as usual in good old L.A.

So as to not breaking the chain, I will comment constructively and not criticize

KISS (keep it simple stupid) should apply to on air contests. Simple contests....Lots of winners!
The above seems to complicated to me.

This is great KISS! but remember to keep it fun! People want to win and people want to have fun.

Most poeple forget the basics!

I have been listening to that radio station giving away "fake money for a lame auction". Listeners seem to love it--way to go and way to keep it fun!

Easy there monitor. Them thars P1's yer pickin' on! Maybe just use an old labor union reference and call them scabbies. Speaking of magic country's P1's and this promotional thread, does anyone have a clue how the Country Goes Huntin' went? I have heard a thing about it.

I "heard" not as well as they had anticipated. Maybe true since we have not heard a lot of horn tootin'
about it.
