As far as radio voices go, Roula Christie's voice has driven me up a wall for years, but her show with Ryan, is doing very well. #1 in the mornings, I believe, from their own acknowledgement.
The voices of radio personalities don't bother me nearly as much as the nonsense nature that morning radio has become, with too much celebrity gossip, uninteresting airtime fill, etc., and not enough music. The fact that music on radio has taken a back seat to useless chatter, especially in the mornings, is partially why so many have taken such a liking to CD players, MP3 players and satellite. More music, less nonsense!
Booker & Sara do sound like they're broadcasting from a box or as I likened it, a tunnel. I'll give them some benefit of the doubt because they are new here, though the condom ads in the 8 o'clock hour did not appeal to me, as a parent; nor did I enjoy hearing "What's a condom?" from my six year old child, afterwards. There's a discussion I had hoped I'd have a few years to prepare. I guess after the summer, the kids will be back in school by 8 a.m. or so, so the ad placement will be okay. It's good that we're teaching safe practices, along those lines, but since most kids don't listen to commercial radio, these days, I'm not sure radio is the best route to promote the message!
In defense of Booker & Sara, at least I haven't heard as much nonsense and bull on their show, yet. I fear it will be the typical case of "give it time," though.
