At the National Radio Hall of Fame banquet in Chicago this past weekend. Boortz was introduced by Rush, whose idea of black tie is wearing a black shirt and a jacket that looked like interference on a TV set.

Congrats to Neal. Not many reach such a pinnacle.

I think he told the infamous, "Cat Chase Broadcast" story - one of the better radio hoaxes.(He tells of using 5 lbs. of wet paper towels hitting a tile floor to simulate uncaught cats hitting the ground in his blog.)

Also inducted was Dr. Demento. Apparently it was all comedy entertainers this year.

I haven't heard Neal do a good hoax in a while... but then again I can't listen as much as I used to. That last one I heard was the dihydrogen monoxide (DHMO) warning. http://www.dhmo.org/. Priceless. He really got some boxers in a bunch with that one.

Well deserved! This gives me more material for the next year of people he saw and stories he told. But seriously, Boortz is proof that one can survive frequent attacks on this board and still make more than all of us put together and have consistant ratings.

Boortz was mentioned on Rush's show yesterday, as Rush went to Chicago to induct him. I suppose they became good friends when Boortz was at WGST.
