Boortz on 1130

heard Neal Boortz on 1130 the past few mornings (around 4:30am central) in Nashville:
no KWKH...and WISN has no listing for Boortz. The Boortz site has no affiliate listed on 1130 either
(could be a throw-away simulcast?) Any ideas?

That's a tough one...

Have you heard WISN before? I've heard them entirely *once* down here. OK, twice, but the other time they were working on their antenna & the pattern was out of whack... On normal pattern they shouldn't be audible down here either on night *or day* pattern.

I was going to say Murray, Kentucky, but they seem to have gone ESPN & dropped their night facilities. They're co-owned with a talk station (WNBS 1340) & was thinking Boortz might have been bumped from 1340 to 1130 by something else, but 1340 doesn't carry him either.

OK, I live about 40 miles south of WISN's tx. During the day, they are one of the strongest MW signals at my home. Actually stronger (by quite a bit) than my in-market talker, WLS. However, once they cut to their night pattern, I barely get a whisper from WISN. It takes my very best AM radio to dig them out from KWKH (which is usually dominant), WBBR and others. Even then, it's hard to hear them. Farther south, closer to Chicago, it is impossible. During Nov/Dec/Jan, I even get some late afternoon intrusion from WDFN at my location.

Not that it's never happened, but I have yet to ever catch WISN leaving their daytime pattern/power on past sunset. If they did that, they would have an impressive signal over the central US. Nonetheless, they do not carry the Neil Boortz Show.

Long story short: that station carrying Boortz wasn't WISN.

probably have to...their affiliate list has nothing on 1130
