Boortz on Bert's Show

Saw the article on AJC.com about Boortz "translating" Honey Boo Boo for Bert and his gang (guess it was yesterday morning). They all are in Dallas for some media convention. The Honey Boo Boo thing came up and one of Bert's staff saw Boortz walking by and dragged him on air.

Nice for Boortz. He's out of town, off the air (Erickson is covering for him), he shows up on a competing station, and he's the kind of guy I bet will turn in the air-time to the union to collect his minimum. TLC gets a plug for an absolutely insipid program, Bert gets a spike for having Boortz on.

Wonderful the way these things all seem to benefit everybody …

Are any of Atlanta's radio stations "union". IIRC channel 11's off air folks were at one time. I do not think even CCN is union in Atlanta either.

Boortz has said that he holds an AFTRA card.

The average Bert listener has no idea who Boortz is. I'm sure the new chick with the whiny voice had to ask everybody who he was after Neal shambled off.

Yeah, something like "Who was that old bald-headed man? Is he famous or something?"
