Bootlegger Box? Krazy Kat counterfeits?

The first three volumes were different on each label, i.e. Volume Two was labeled Big Oldies 98.5 Presents Bobby Box's Roots of Rock & Roll. Vol. Three just says Bobby Box's Roots of Rock & Roll. Beginning with Vol 4 they were relabeled as Jukebox Oldies , and remained labeled thusly through at least Volume 16, maybe more.

That they first removed the name of the radio station and then Box's name from the CD-R series works towards the argument that they are concerned about potential liability.

There is also the point that these are not CDs, but CD-Rs. They are recordable CDs. Recordable CDs that are most likely being burned by Krazy Kat Records themselves, which could explain why it is that the Jukebox Oldies series is only available at Krazy Kat Records and nowhere else.

Also adding fuel to the fire is the fact that Krazy Kat engages in what appears to be the most brazen counterfeiting of legitimate CDs. For example, the poor printing and quality of the covers and inserts on the Jukebox Oldies series has been mentioned. If you visit Krazy Kat Records you will notice that other CD compilations, like say "The Folk Years" series on the Time/Life label or the "Soul Hits of the 70s" series on the Rhino label, also suffer from the same unprofessional, poor quality printing and the same ill fitting, poorly trimmed jewel case inserts.

The funny thing is that the exact same CDs at Hastings or Borders have nice clear, crisp printing with covers that are trimmed neatly. There is obviously something fishy about the ones at Krazy Kat.

Bury your head in the sand and pretend that you see no wrong if you want, but I am not going to shop at a store that appears to be engaging in counterfeiting and I won't support a disc jockey who appears to be ripping off the artists he claims to love.

Well said. I think Larry Barker the investigative TV reporter at KRQE should be given this tip

You keep ignoring all the information I've given you. Why are you arguing with me on this board - take your complaints to the RIAA, if you're so inclined.

Oh yes, I'm The Great Pretender, The Platters

but I am not going to shop at a store that appears to be engaging in counterfeiting and I won't support a disc jockey who appears to be ripping off the artists he claims to love.
You have that right, as an American citizen, if you are one.

You've made your case, and now it's up to you. AGM 98.5 is in the phone book and Krazy Kat is on East Central. File charges, call a cop, do what you need to do...but quit complaining, your whining is getting very boring.

I'm gone....

My dog's not in this fight. I care little on this issue, one way or the other.
