Growing up in W.N.Y. in the 60's and 70's, I remember the Buffalo, N.Y.
stations frustration with Canadian Cable Companies carrying the programming
content from their stations but replacing the commercials with their own.
This lasted for years. The three major stations tried various tactics such as
a crawl at the bottom of the screen, mentioning the "theft" of their signals.
A cable company near Jamestown, as I recall, tried to carry CFTO Toronto and
was almost immediately stopped from doing so by the F.C.C. We moved away
in 1979. What happened in the ensuing years??? What is the present situation
with regard to Buffalo stations being carried in Ontario Canada??? Are Canadian
channels permitted on U.S. cable/satellite??? With the move to digital, what is
the coverage of Buffalo stations into Ontario and Ontario stations into W.N.Y.???
