Boring Sox Rebroadcasts on WRKO

Driving home from work tonight in the 7 o'clock hour, I tune to 680 AM to listen to a few minutes of Michael Savage.
I hear Joe Castiglione during some game or another from years gone by, then I remember it's part of some promotion the rocket scientists at Entercom have dreamed up. Perhaps Jason, perhaps someone else.
Yawn.
How many people are gonna listen to a rebroadcast of a baseball game?
I quickly tuned to other stations that carry Savage, but why is RKO chasing listeners away with history?
Unless it's happening now, who cares? Even if it's just an exhibition game? ???

Entercomm wants Red Sox listensers to look for Sox on RKO instead of WEEI. Can catch Savage on Wed.nite on RKO. Sox Wed nite and weekday afternoon games will be on WEEI. Few Rush and Howie pre -empts. Also, I heard somewehere that pre game and post games shows would be on both RKO and WEEI.

RKO just isn't what it used to be, I'm sure Jerry is rolling over in his grave, such a shame this station has deteriorated to this level.

I can just imagine the WEEI Sportsflashes when they're stuck with the C's! BTW, back in the day when I was at WBRS on Saturday nights, this was the way I announced the final scores:

The Celtics sucked yet again by the final score of 128-75 against the L.A. Fakers. They are scheduled to suck yet again tomorrow against the L.A. Clip Joints. The game will not be televised unless you're one of the lucky few who can afford cable and can catch SportsChannel at 9.

I'm looking forward to those kind of sportsflashes!

I was driving home from Connecticut to Providence RI a few nights back, and struggled with reception to listen to almost an hour of one of those games. If you're a baseball fan, you're excited about the season coming up... and Red Sox on radio sounds like summer. It's for people like me, I guess.

They did it all last week and last night and tonight, "7 in '07", and it was mentioned a week or so before it began to air. The implication is that it's a chance to hear these great games again (condensed a la "Sox in 2" on
NESN")--and there are some great moments ("jump on his back, fellas"), but the real purpose is to cement in
peoples' minds that the Sox are (MOSTLY) on 'RKO now. This is for those of us who never read the paper about it or heard the zillions of promos WRKO has been running.

I thought Wed night is the first Sox exhibition and it'll be on 'RKO; if so, Savage will air, as he has been,
after the game. For those who want their Savage fix right away you CAN pick him up on WCRN,
WCAP, WOR...

If WRKO's attitude is that we're now SportsRadio680, maybe they should move the talk to 850 and put
the WEEI hosts on 680, etc. But what they're doing is this:

680: Talk days (from the Felon to Howie), sports nights (other stations do the same...WBZ has a three-way
format with news days, talk nights, and Bruins on occasion). The idea is that you'll hear promos for
the Felon, Feinburg, and Howie during the game and tune in. Or that your radio is set on 680 at night
and will remain there come morning...
850: sports talk all the time, a couple Sox games, and some Celts. I'm hearing that next year the Celts may migrate there full time
