Boring Tech Stuff Almost Nobody Cares About

Just a couple of points nobody has posted about here:

1. WDRC 102.9 has turned on IBOC(HD Radio). Is anyone aware? Does anybody plan to buy an HD radio if they ever become available.

2. WQQQ 103.3 has finally turned on their stereo. Sounds great! Will WLNG be next?

3. WRKI 95.1 has got their RDS *right* finally. Locks in here as easy as WPLR or any Hartford local. Nice going, WRKI.

4. Speaking of RDS, WSPK 104.7 has also done some work on it. I can lock on it at least 90% of the time here.

5. WACC-LP 107.7 streams now. I forget the address.

6. A young man who posted extensively on the old board (in the old days) has worked a couple of weekend AMs recently on 95.7 Kiss FM. It's great experience for him and I wish him Adam well.

Yes. They are high-level combining the signal into a new 5 bay ERI antenna.
The old 5 bay is now the aux. And Yes, I do once the standards are more set regarding multi-casting.

He also used to post extensively here. Good luck to him!

Another piece of tech stuff nobody cares about. WSHU-AM, formerly WMMM 1260AM, vacated the transmitter site at 12 Willard Road in Norwalk on October 27th, 2005 as part of its agreement with Minuteman Broadcasting, the former owner of WMMM. As last reported, they are operating from a single dipole on the adjacent SNET/SBC tower next door to the former transmitter property. I haven't seen any FCC notification of the change or any special temporary authority (STA) to allow this operation.

An STA was issued on 10/19/05
BSTA-20051004ADU.
