Boring!

Also, WHY CAN'T STATIONS PLAY SOME DAMN MUSIC DURING MORNING DRIVE? Talk, talk, talk is all you hear and it's absolutely about nuthin' and it goes nowhere. Please, how about some music, maestro?

Good News:
Arbitron's PPM has shown a "weakness" in some station's "talk-a-thon" then music programming.

Bad news:
The current crop of advertisers are mostly interested in the sub 50 demo's.

i had a Program Director ask me years ago... when it comes to talk...
ask yourself...Is what your saying BETTER THAN A SONG?
(in most cases the answer would be NO) i guess PD's don't ask air talent that question any more.

Every successful radio station I have ever worked at had a rubber chicken somewhere in the studio. If what you said was as entertaining as the rubber chicken then say it, if not shut up!

If you totally shut up, you wind up sounding like Pandora, or 107.9 Indy....boring.
i agree with you but, at issue is...INNANE TALK with NO Purpose, go ahead Entertain me!! or SHUT UP. of course there is a thin line between the two, and few who can do it well.

i've often wondered, with stations playing to arbitron's PPM, which makes PD's tell the air talent to talk 3 times an hour WHAT "GABFESTS" like a Bob & Tom Show and others like them square with that? it seems to me like Both Extremes are in play, lots of stupid talk and then, NO talk from the Local air talent makes no sense.
