BOSTON DMA BEST-WORST NEWSCASTS AND/OR STATION RANK

My series continues. I would like your opinions on Boston stations (4, 5, 7, 25, 38, 56) based on news and/or station programming.
 
I live in Rhode Island. So for me to watch a Boston station they must be good. At the moment WHDH and FOX 25 have my attention. They are both Top Quality in my Book.

25 has the best morning and late news of anyone. morning show rocks - i didnt like kim carrigan when she was 7 or 4, but she rocks at 25 for some reason. gene, q, vb, cindy and doug are all great support cast. the show just works. can't explain it. by far the market's strongest anchor team - maria stefanos and david wade. top notch political reporter in joe battenfield. best investigative reporter in bob ward. sports is 25's weak link - butch stearns is probably the worst sports guy in town. he's even worse than lobel if that's possible. i actually turn to mike ratte on 56 or chris collins on necn when sports comes on 25. 5 has the best sports department with lynchie, dowling and halloran and hands down the best weather guy in the market - harvey.

I agree with Garrett but with a slight change.

I think 5 is the best for quality news delievered with quality.

7 should change its calls to W"PAP" Paparazzi. They have so much tabloid news and they blow stories way out of proportion. I can't remember a specific example off the top of my head, but I'm sure others can. Its like a story on how a rock in a tire caused an accident and they'll say "Coming up on 7, What will cause you to smash into the pavement at 100 mph and what can the governement do to clean these little annoyances up! Find out next on 7!" and you see the story and you feel like you've been lied to lol. Some people like this brand of news reporting, I, for one, don't.

56 I think does a good job connecting with older viewers on the 10 O'Clock News.

25 nails the younger demo but sometimes can have that paparazzi feeling to it too.

4 is pathetic at the moment. WBZ 4 First @ 4 in years past was much better... they don't even have a 4pm newscast. This rubs off on 38's broadcast, though Chris May does well for himself.
