This early morning, most of the Boston - Worcester area DTV stations were being received very well in Poughkeepsie, NY. Usually nothing is received from New England here except WTNH-8 New Haven, although in April I was getting WFSB-3 Hartford consistently, but that ended in May.
The only Boston - Worcester stations NOT coming in this morning were WBPX-68, WUTF-66, and WWDP-46.
What I found most amazing was getting WHDH-7 on BOTH ch7 and ch42. Channel 7 was solid. Note that on channel 7, more than 99% of the time I can NOT get WABC New York. (Other NYC channel DTV reception is usually pretty good). It must be due to interference from Fox Albany, also on 7. Fox Albany is usually received here, but always with their audio cutting out every few seconds... maybe WABC interference? However, WHDH on ch 7 was doing just fine. Now I was really surprised to receive the ch 42 signal here... as Poughkeepsie has a 19,000 watt local analog translator on that channel. WHDH was coming through with break up, but they were there, both the main channel and "This TV" channel. I guess WHDH and the Poughkeepsie translator being in opposite directions from me helped.
I am surprised on some of the closeness of some of the allocations, especially channels 20 and 31 in Hartford and Boston. Even Albany and New York are farther apart, and the channel 7's interfere. And except for 2 local stations and a translator, the only 2 TV Markets we get receive here are New York and Albany.
