I just flipped on my shower radio to WRKO hoping to hear some talk about the chemical plant explosion in Danvers - the biggest news stories in weeks. Yesterday’s explosion destroyed 90 homes but miraculously didn’t kill anyone.

Instead, I heard host Todd Feinburg talking about Tuesday’s weather, O.J. and breastfeeding. It was a re-run of that day’s show. That’s pretty lame.

Feinburg has been filling in for fired talk jock John DePetro from 9 a.m. to noon.

I’m told “tons” of people have expressed interest in DePetro’s old job. Couldn’t one of them filled in today?"

That costs money which Emptycon doesn't have or doesn't want to spend.

Word has it they may soon be auditioning a team known as Dingo And The Baby who were briefly on
WQHG-FM 97.1 in Quahog, RI...

Oh: and a friend of mine taped some Gene Burns off KGO when he was in the Bay Area recently (maybe
20 min worth). He is as good now as we all remember; if he can't be convinced to come here why not do
a simulcast? He's on 7-10 PT. Whom would you rather listen to from 10p-1 a here, Burns or Savage?

>>>did WEEI have live programming? Did WTKK?

'rko always live in the past on thanksgiving..

>>>Marge Clapprood now filling in on 'RKO

how uncreative...

it might be uncreative, but it is probably the smartest decision they can make. Politics - and her somewhat grating voice aside - she is more on the ball than Pat Whitley and they need to have a woman on the station to balance things out. Her Democratic position will make the station more fair and balanced. It's the obvious move and it is also a smart one. She knows they are cheapskates and probably would like to have the platform.

What has M.C. Marjorie done since leaving RKO? The Sarandis/Clapprood ticket for governor of Deer Island?
They have a chance of winning that race - there are probably 5 residents of the Deer Island Treatment plant, and they could also circulate the RKO signal through the sewage system and try to clean it up.

9 - Noon "Politics & Baseball" with Mar-gorie and Ted. There's an ugly idea for a radio program.

Their only lament is that they can't clone Mo Lauzier. Speaking of which, any truth to the rumor that he'll be calling the Red Sox games when the season starts up again? "Issues of the Day - Play-by-play"

>>>Politics - and her somewhat grating voice aside

politics will be dumped from new 'rko entirely

Nooooo, I couldn't listen of Teddy was back on (Unless Dakota called in)

:-\

I guess the possibility of a local mid-day show dealing with dating, relationships, marriage and divorce is O-U-T...huh? And to make it even more interesting, bring in a MAN---who doesn't think like "Dr. Phil"---to co-host it with a member of the opposite sex?

I can think of a terrific male candidate....but at the moment, my lips are sealed! :-X

Does AM even come in a shower? This Herald person sounds like an obsessed talk radio lunatic. Listening on a shower radio on Thanksgiving moring?! Take a break from your job, lady. Go visit some friends and family. Live a little.

Unlike the Clea Simon's of the world, who know zero about radio, it's nice to have someone in this town who gives a flying bleep. Let's not dissuade her, we appreciate it.

Dakota's short-lived radio show may have one of the worst of the last several years.
