Boston Legal Finale

By far this has to be one of the dumbest endings for a TV show in the history of television. SPOILER.................
For those of you who either TIVO or DVR the show, then stop reading this right now.

Two hours and one would think that David Kelly and company could have come up with a better ending then having Denny and Alan get married so that Denny could fund Alan's free legal clinic, plus take care of him when the Alzheimer's progressed.

The takeover of the law firm by a Chinese corporation and renaming it was the only highlight of the entire evening, especially when Denny got out his paint guns and let, as Denny would say, "the Commies" have it!

The Shirley and Carl story was drawn out and just plain boring.

There has been talk that a spin-off might in the offing but personally I don't see it happening, which brought up a funny line by Shatner when this issue was discussed during a conversation between Denny and Alan about having another network that cares carry such a show. (A nice slam at ABC).

IMHO this show should have been cancelled years ago. But a fitting finale would have been for Alan and Denny to accidently fall off the balcony, land on Carl and Shirley, then have Jerry and Katie take over the law firm.

I must be wrong, but I thought that the James Spader character and Shatners character were father and son! So how could they get married? As you can see I did not watch this show at all.

Yes, I can tell :)
They were not father and son.

While the finale was a bit silly, I will miss this show. It's nice to have some light-hearted comedic drama for a change as opposed to the majority of drivel that is now on the airwaves.

Personally, David E. Kelley's stuff has always been way too over the top for me. I watched The Practice regularly during the first season or two - I think I was entertained by all the clever dialogue. But I stopped watching because I got tired of all the over-wrought drama and screaming. I also got sick of being manipulated by all those sudden "Oh, wow" plot twists that were often too unrealistic to be believed.

Same thing with Picket Fences. I found Ally McBeal repugnant from day one.
