BOSTON PHOENIX ARTICLE on WJIB-740

will check out--in the meantime the Phoenix is getting rid of "Stuff" and will relaunch The Phoenix as a glossy. Details (incl. the bits about WFNX):
It's the Phoenix...from Boston USAaaaaaaaaaaa (old jingle) http://www.bizjournals.com/boston/news/2012/08/01/the-boston-phoenix-stuff-to-be.html?page=all

>>The WFNX live stream is being run by staff at Phoenix Media, according to a spokesperson. Former on-air personalities at WFNX were snapped up by the Boston Globe.

Every market should have a Bob Bittner who owns, programs, and operates a station providing programming nobody else in the market is doing.

You guys might enjoy this one as well. http://www.kbrd.org/

250 watt daytime only; has to get out of the way of KNBR San Francisco at night. But the stream runs all night long. The fine old gentleman who started KBRD (also a legacy call for an FM Beautiful Music station around these parts) passed away a few years back, but a group of locals got together to keep it going and the non-profit seems viable. Long live Mr. Bitner- Skip would be proud.
