Boston Public

I COULD be wrong but didnt "Boston Public" get cancelled a couple of years ago?? And it only ran for a couple or three years on Fox?? And it starred Chi McBride as the principal??

Maybe you mean "Boston Legal" which morphed out of "The Practice" a couple of years ago and stars William Shatner and whathisname?
