7am- Sesame Street

The Thanksgiving 1983 episode of Sesame Street, "Farewell, Mr. Hooper," would be the one where Big Bird is informed of Mr. Hooper's death. In real life, actor Will Lee passed away on Dec. 7, 1982--nearly a year earlier. (BTW, Will Lee was the first actor to play Grandpa Hughes on "As the World Turns" when it premiered on Apr. 2, 1956).
