Boston's Bull*****er

I've been dropping in on the Kuhner Report on RKO for a little while now and I can't believe this is what RKO decided to hang its hat on for morning drive time.

Never mind all the usual "Obama is satan" drivel that is pervasive on the channel, but all the hard Ks on the end of gerunds (I thought he was Canadian, not from deep Lonk Island)? The speaking in endless lists? The telling of every caller that agrees with his nonsense (which is basically everyone, thanks Cooksie) with a "you nailed it"? The never ending sarcasm?

And wasn't there a time when a commentator would be fired/suspended for mimicking Asian, Latino, or Middle Eastern accents?

Is this what talk radio has become in Boston now that there is "only one" station?

Well, I guess on how you look at it. In Boston, it's really WBUR talk radio that is doing well, other than Howie on RKO and perhaps BZ at night.

For some reason they have had Mike Siegel covering his 11 am hour lately...is Jeff on vacation? No, still on in morning drive. Siegel, who I believe was liberal but drifted right, had been on Seattle
radio for years and may have been part of the National Assoc. of Radio Talk Show Hosts, now
defunct, that had included Jerry Williams. He would do end of year fill ins for the Dean.

Jeff seems to think he should over-enunciate the end of words like that. He had been doing fill ins for Savage and when they had him on RKO his fill ins he did seem to click, thus the hiring. Personally I wish they would hire another Jeff K, who still lives in this area despite being laid off from Talk 1200--
Jeff Katz...who was all over the bombings on Facebook... (As for whatever he says about the Pres., not that it's right, but the other side did similar accusations when Bush was in office--Chimpy
McHitler, Bushitler, hangings in effigy, joking about killing W, etc. and had Willard M. Romney been
elected they perhaps would do the same....Just saying.)

I already mentioned this in Marathon explosions thread, but I made the mistake of tuning in RKO the Tuesday after Marathon Monday. Not even 24 hours removed from the explosion and it was caller after caller calling up and proclaiming that Obama was no doubt smiling from ear to ear as it'd allow him to further take away our liberties. Kuhner of course was in full agreement.
It was absolutely disgusting.

inthe nesn building to better accommodate the morning show?

Which is why it amazes me that he can rail against those evil immigrants. Isn't he one himself?

It's rare to find an all-out nativist in a market like Boston. I don't recall having listened to this guy, but he may have an argument against 'illegal' immigrants, not legal ones. Now, I don't have the widest circle of friends, but I can't honestly think of anyone against law-abiding naturalized citizens or green card holders, per se, and would think that there isn't a very large market up here for some talk host who is.

Of course, I've noticed that often some agenda driven folks forget the difference, or don't see one.

Regards,
TSB

Siegel did all night on WITS along with some fill on local majors in their talk years. He either replaced or was replaced by David Gold. Siegel was big on gimmicks, such as send tea bags to members of Congress (before the teaparty)

Interesting that he went on an abortion rant today, using German Holocaust analogies. Shortly after that one of the callers said that the producer told him not to talk about that subject.
