Bought Automation and waiting for refund... Please advise.

I bought an automation that did not work out for our station. It's a good system but tech support was atrocious so we requested a refund.

A representative of the company told us that the refund was going out to us on January 17, 2010. We have not received any refund.

When we call the company we either get an answering machine or the phone just rings and rings, but no one answers.

Your advice in this matter is appreciated. josh :(

If it's a good system, why return it?
I know people who do that with everything they buy.
Well they don't "buy" things so much as "use them and return them."
Seems dishonest to me.

What company?

I don't want to say the name of the company.

COncerning the refund question : it had nothing to do with the product. It was extremely difficult to get hold of the person that performed the tech support. We needed help and it became a nightmare trying to get tech support on the phone.

This wasn't about asking for a refund without a valid reason. Tech support was part of the agreement - the company did not honor our requests in a timely manner.

  • Call a few more times, documenting the dates, times, discussions
  • If no action, polite but firm registered letter asking what and when they will resolve issues.
  • If still no action, small or large claims action.

I've noticed more and more companies having problems like this. I expect 2010 will end up with less companies in business, probably starting 3rd quarter or right after NAB.
