Bounce TV

Hey everyone. Bounce TV just bounced onto my COMCAST lineup here in Bristol, Connecticut the other day. (Channel 377 WTNH 8.2). This morning I watched the movie "Bustin' Loose" starring Richard Pryor and Cicely Tyson. From what I saw there didn't seem to be any technical problems like people were reporting the other day. The only "problem" (which really wasn't a problem, which is why I put it in quotes) was from Channel 8. At 5:09AM they put in small white letters the legal ID (WTNH 8.2 New Haven Hartford) and it stayed on the screen for the rest of the movie including the commercials.

My local station has had it since Day 1. Haven't had a chance to watch, since there is, as of yet, no program guide (not sure if this is an issue with Bounce or the local affiliate). I have very little idea what is on that station. They have cleaned up the sound and video glitches, but the picture quality is still mediocre.

Maybe the local affiliate didn't have anyone around to make sure the station identification only popped up when it's supposed to. I know with WCIU 26.5, carries This TV, & when they would do their station ID, sometimes, they drag it out with a small yellow bar at the bottom. I forgot which station I picked up OTA back in 2009, & that station had their station ID on the entire time. So stations that may do this, do so just to make sure that they're keeping it legal by having the station ID up the entire time, because the station doesn't always have someone monitoring the satellite feed, & only insert the station ID at the top of the hour. While this is PBS, but WTTW doesn't completely monitor the feeds to Create & V-Me that they have the station ID up 24/7 (WTTW Chicago[11.3] underneath the Create logo, & WTTW Chicago [11.4] in the upper left hand corner of the screen)

I found out that WMC in Memphis dropped their Weather Plus subchannel and replaced it with Bounce. This has probably been on since day one, but I just recently ran into it on Charter Cable In Jackson, TN.

If your Cbable systems doesn't have it yet but it's available in your area call them and tell the you want it added to their lineup.

KHOU11 in Houston Cleared the BounceTV Schedule on its .2 channel 99%-except at 4, instead of showing "Backstage Pass"-A Gospel music show, it showed back-to-back reruns of "Roseanne". and Ironically, it doesn't fit. Should have put "Great Day" with Deborah Duncan-Who happens to be African-American, instead.
