Citadel and Phil Boyce have parted company. FOX's radio news/talk programs need greater station clearance in major markets. Boyce and FOX would be a perfect fit.

I think there is something bigger in the wind - like Phil taking over Premiere's talk operations (or all operations for that matter!).

Hannitys new deal adds much $$ to Premiere's coffers,
and lord knows they have many shows that need a programmers
guidance to improve their value to the stations (and clients).

And Premiere recently lost some suits like Sean Compton to Tribune.
 
If it's true that a major talk programmer used his own religious/political leanings to decide programming for a major outlet like WABC, then I am disgusted, to say the least.

I am no fan of the Fairness Doctrine, but it is at moments like this, that I wish these jerks would be forced to swallow the apparently bitter pill of (God forbid) varied opinion!

You don't know your history.

WABC was NOT a right-wing station when Boyce took it over.

THAT is the point.

He was a major contributing factor in steering the format in a direction that perpetuates a short-sighted and stifling image, one guarenteed to limit future audience growth.
 
I don't know if Bey is correct or not; obviously, he has his own personal issues as well. That being said, it's a fact that "talk radio" has increasingly become a platform for advancing the "conservative" agenda, to the detriment of the entertainment factor. I tend to believe it's more due to the current tendency to do things on the ultra-cheap, combined with the fact that your average radio suit is a brain-dead drone. ;D
