boycott entercom kansas city and 99.7 the point!!!

Though I'm not from Kansas City, I am requesting every KUDL fan to boycott Entercom Kansas City and 99.7 the Point.

Many of you are just criticizing the new station and just letting the old KUDL fade away, but do you want to say goodbye to the radio station that has been running for 34 years and be stuck with mediocre music on 99.7? Please send letters, make phone calls, organize rallies, create petitions, make a Facebook page to bring back Soft Rock KUDL, anything to bring back the music you all loved to listen!

New York has done the same with WCBS-FM 101.1 in 2007, so please take action and save KUDL!

Entercom can care less about those stations. They killed KY and we got a new station every year on 99.7. People called to complain when they move WDAF over to FM and KCIY got dumped nothing. KUDL needed a fresh makeover but I dont think we saw this coming. KUDL leaving the airwaves. All this does is give Cumulus the opprotunity of a lifetime question is what station would they blow up. I guess the idea of moving KMAJ in KC is now gone but with the limits of owning a FM it wont happen. This is the same thing they did in Wichita KS a few years back.

They took one AC off, and put another on. Big difference between blowing up a heritage station for something whose replacement generated poor ratings.

It's not as if they put Oldies or Classic Hits on elsewhere in NYC when they put Jack on 101.1. And a KUDL makeover/updating might have produced the same result as 99.7 today; all Entercom did was to enhance the move to FM of KMBZ by giving it an FM position at 98 to go with its AM position at 98 (980, but once upon a time, plenty of AMs identified their frequencies this way).

Had KUDL not been at or near 98, we wouldn't be having this conversation today. But it still might have become The Point, in a post-Christmas revamp.

They took an AC off and put on a a "bright AC". This would be a great loss for those who enjoy mainstream AC.

Speaking of Entercom, have you seriously considered starting a petition to call for the permanent breakup of Entercom Radio?
