BPM on Sirius36/XM81

BPM has change lately going back to real dance music and less top40 remix crossovers.

The Beat Morining Show Weekdays 8am-1pm

I like The Beat Morining Show alot of varitey dance music and some 90's dance as well. To get your work day goining faster.

Some repeats same songs but not alot as before like 20 times a day.

Now that what BPM dance channel really needed for the dance fans

Hey, Tony S, are you seeing this?? :) Tony must be like the happiest camper or something since BPM is gettin' real with the deal... :)

Andrea

Heard Matchbox 20 remix on there again today, and the "What hurts the most" remix and the Top40 version of Lady Gaga. Not cool. Not cool at all. Overall though it's still the best US mainstream dance station ever, but barely hanging on a thread to this distinction because in recent weeks it's slipping over to what The Beat sounded like with a lot of wack tracks.

Hi Tony I will said I like the sounds of it right now because the real dance music is back on BPM with less top40 crossover. Before it was alot of top40 crossover and less dance and lot of repeats making it sounds like 20on20 on XM-20. The Beat Morining Show get u going on the way to work and at work The Beat Morining Show weekdays 8am-1pm. If I was you Tony I will give it a try and see how u like the way BPM on sirius/xm. They still do repeats but not as much as before.

For me, it does sound better than the beat, but you can tell that with the merger, BPM did get a blend of the beat in it. I recall as BPM was the station that hardly had the top 40 remixes and was straight up into dance. But I do know that it's better than Pulse. 8)

I actually noticed the same thing... they have tweaked their music to PRE-MERGER and I'm actually considering staying on.. It got pretty back about 2-4 weeks ago sound liek the Beat (which was horrible). I wasn't too sure if it was just me, but someone else has noticed thsi tweak and it is definitely in the right direction - but not quite there YET. I think if we give them a bit more time they'll be back on track..... If they go down the Beat street again, it's game over.. that is horrible radio!

If you haven't given BPM a listen in the last week or so, give it a try again and chime in your thoughts on the recent changes if you notice.

Thanks Louis for responding :) Now I can chime in.

Granted, from an XM perspective BPM may truly never go back to the days of pre-merger, with Alan Freed on the helm, but in comparison to where they were just after the merger there have been some improvements. The recurrents have become more recent, new adds are appearing and for what the core dance fans listening to "The Beat" have "suffered" (I had Sirius at one time so I know) and for what "BPM" fans have been used to, this is a good compromise. And for what it is, having "The Beat Morning Show" is good enough for that morning drive time...nothing too radical but still something for everyone, core and newbies into the dance scene.

I only wished that some sort of "chart" came back on the website though so as if there is a song I needed to check out, I'd look there and go buy it online.

I dont have XM anymore, but my GF gets it on Direct TV, but I told her all the good dance stations are from Europe, and I sent her links to some of the London Pirate stations, all the Dance stations in Holland and France, and ive got a bunch more im gonna send her from Chrles list when she tires of those... I really think UK garage, mixed with some House, and bassline House infused with hip hop and a touch of Drum n Bass could work here for the younger listeners. Knoxville Tennesse of all places has a huge Drum N Bass scene. She also likes the Hands up Techno style house, like Cascada/ Groove Coverage..... Bass hunter.. ect.. but she doesnt really like POP Remixes cause it makes her long to here the original... I can contest with that. Im not sure id play a Matchbox 20 remix at dance, but whats wrong with Cascada, and Lady Gaga,, its mainstream US dance????????? Although There are a few quality dancier versions of lady Gaga that I would probably play at Dance the CD single has 4 mixes on it, but they need edited down for radio,,, at least its not the Hip Hop version that WNOU Indianapolis plays.... I can tolerate it, but why does every Dance song have to have a rap beat and male rapper to get airplay.
