More like, "The hits just keep on comin'." Radio & Records late Tuesday reported that Clear Channel laid off 590 employees nationwide in the latest round of "Radio Wheel of Misfortune." The last time this occured, layoffs at Citadel followed about a week later as Emmis and Cumulus jumped into the act too. Who's left if Citadel makes more cuts at the Buffalo cluster?! Paul Brenon was the latest cut at the Edge where a few weekenders have voice tracked airshifts without pay just to keep their voices on the air. Word is 97 Rock is voice-tracked or staffed by salaried fulltimers on the weekend and weekenders are off the schedule almost entirely.
