I was in the Tampa Club a while ago, and have been too busy to get to this board to report the following. Just by coincidence, a couple of tables away was Bruce Maduri of Genesis, their VP of Sales (heard he was formerly from Ft. Myers, but didn\'t hear his name clearly, Kenny, maybe?), and a GM from the Ft. Myers market (friend of VP of Sales, but I never could hear his name at all).
Apparently, Maduri\'s not happy with James because he feels that James is not fully following his directives with regard to the sales force. Maduri wants James to be tougher on the account execs, and James has a more laid back attitude than Maduri wants. Also, James doesn\'t seem to want to go along with some of the VP\'s methods. This \"Kenny\" guy was hot about that, and really wants him out! Maduri thinks James is weak because of all of this, plus apparently James has not been so hot on taking the heat for some of Maduri\'s decisions, most notably, for some of Maduri\'s moves that have alienated some advertisers.
Anyway, the new GM will be taking over in a few weeks, which could stretch out to 2 or 3 months. Too bad, I heard from a friend at CC that James is a nice guy.
