Brad Perry. Benched or Fired?

KTVK's wacky morning "Forecaster" Brad Perry threw a temper tantrum on Wednesday mornings show. It seems his idol, Larry King, was in the studio and his director would not let him come back to the station from his remote. He came back saying, "I am pissed" and acted like a two year old. I missed the end of the show but someone on the 3-TV boards said he did not do the last few weather segments.

Brad was absent from the show on Thursday and Friday. Dan Davis filled in for him on a remote with the Miss Arizona contestants and mentioned that Brad was scheduled to do that remote. Gibby Parra came up from Tucson to do the Friday weather.

Does anyone have any more insight into this incident? Did Brad get canned or just benched for a few days?

I don't know, but my guess is he was suspended, and if that's the way it happened, he had it coming. Plain and simple. The guy watching at home doesn't care.

Now, another subject -- why was Tara calling Channel 5 "a bunch of losers" on Wednesday's show?

What on earth is going on at KTVK?? Have they just decided to stop having anyone remotely (very remotely) qualified doing the weather? While the early summer weather is not terribly interesting, the meteorologists on other stations have been able to give some insight on how the weather affects the wildfires (but not 3-TV).

BTW, Brad Perry always looks agitated and has not been having fun recently. By his own claims, he is supposed to be the "Al Roker" of Phoenix. NOT!!!

I'm a little surprised he hasn't said Al Roker is the Brad Perry of the networks.

Still looking for an answer to my earlier question -- what's Tara's beef with Channel 5?

She did? I missed that. I'll ask over at azfamily and see if anyone else caught the "L" action.

Scared of 5's gaining ratings?

A very subdued Brad Perry returned to Good Morning Arizona today. He chatted, did the weather, went to the Boys and Girls club, interviewed the people but was very low keyed and well mannered. He did make an on air apology to the Easley's (who's shop he was in when he threw his tantrum), the viewers, his co-workers and finally to the station and it's owners (Belo).

So it looks like he was sent to the time out chair for a few days.

It worked for Liz Habib....it'll probably work for Brad.

Kind of gives new meaning to "Do The Perry", doesn't it?

I asked over at azfamily if anyone saw Tara calling CBS5 a bunch of losers but no one has come forward with any more info.
