Bradley Jay - "Open Lines" on Overnights

Very interesting on "Jay Talking" the last few nights -- sounds like someone at BZ "talked" with Bradley about his abruptness with callers and boring topics. The last couple of nights he's been doing Open Lines, letting callers go to an extent he never has before, and has talked about how he's supposed to tell callers "goodnight" so he builds a "connection" with them. I can only imagine some of that was dictated by a talk with management.

Anyone else notice or have some idea what's up? I have to be honest it's much more entertaining than his show has been since he took over. Even when he introduces a topic, he's letting the caller actually talk instead of yelling at them if they shift gears and drift off topic.

I am curious. Does anyone know what a ballpark salary and overnight person gets in Boston these days?

Bradley Jay just doesn't belong on over night. Should be someone like Morgan White, Jr.
No offense to BJ but I find I turn him off more often than on.

Overnight

Ballpark salary"
--------------------------
There aren't any overnight talent in Boston (Bradley Jay excep). Steve Lavellie worked for like 15 years at BZ and was pulling in about 85k. D.Brudnoy was at about 95k when he left the scene.

Open lines again tonight and Bradley Jay is sadly begging for calls.

It's funny how he keeps talking about being "upbeat" also, not to mention asking the caller "is there anything else?" before they hang up. lol
But I have to admit...it is more listenable than his earlier format.

Anyone listen when he threw Aerosmith's Joey Creamer off the air a couple of weeks ago when he started swearing? Jay cut the interview short and went to a break after only 15 minutes but some bad words still went out over the air (at least they did on the online streaming version). This followed a previous interview when he had on some club owners and friends of his who wanted to share stories about taking a piss in the men's room of said establishment. Jay told them to knock it off and he ended that interview early also I believe. His track record has been stupendous recently! ;) lol
