Is Bradley Jay the best WBZ can do overnight?

Wish him well but he leaves a lot to be desired for overnights.

Sure much better than that poor soul, Jen Brien, - wish her well wherever she it but that doesn't say much for BJ.

Steve Leveille is a hard act to follow and Bradley Jay proves that every night Sunday - Thursday [ Leveille 0ne to Leveille Five.... ;) ].

I find Jay very odd...he implores people to call up, but comes across as largely disinterested when they do. Most of the time it seems he's distracted and doesn't even listen to what the caller is saying -- even the coherent ones. He abruptly ends calls while people are still talking and is rigid when anyone ever starts to drift off: "stay on topic! [click]"

But maybe worse than that -- the conversation is very disjointed. Overnights have a different feel, naturally, and hearing him rehash news topics that can be talked about at any other time of the day isn't what most people want to hear necessarily when they're drifting off to sleep. That kind of "offbeat" talk or subject matter is something he does once in a while, but not enough. And he also doesn't seem to have a lot of interests other than music and old-time rock spots in the Boston area. Doesn't make for a lot of compelling talk radio.

In short, I still don't know what to make of him, but in general I've been disappointed by his show. If Brien wasn't such a mess, I think she'd probably be more suited to this kind of show than Jay.

You are right on point about Bradley Jay. Has anyone noticed that he sound exactly like the now late Paul Benzaquin ...or as Jess Cain would call him Paul Benzadrene....:) Bradley Jay proves that not everyone can do talk radio well. I hardly turn on BZ at night now.

yes she is Syndicated. Have you listened to her show. If not, don't bother responding if you can't back up your points. Listen to her shows for a few nights, and then, after you do that, come back and talk with us

It doesn't matter whether I listen to her ot not. I simply prefer local radio to anything syndicated. So I do believe I have the right to respond.

Gotta agree, I really don't like listening to him. I listen to Scott Ferrall and Damon Amendolara on WBZ-FM overnights now. Sometimes WBUR.
