Brand new station coming soon...

98-5 K-KOUNTRY

98.5 K-Kountry? You're probably right, and I'm dreading it. There was a chance to bring a unique format to this area, but instead they're opting to bring in yet another Country format. Do people around this area hate Rock music for some reason? Any Rock stations that reach the Philly or Monmouth/Ocean areas are either too soft, too Classic-leaning, or have 80% Talk and 20% Rock. I'm waiting for someone to go for it and just nail the format - that station will become a force to be reckoned with in both markets if it has a good enough signal. Even if it only covers one, it will still be a major success.

97.5 (you heard it here first, folks) ;D
. I hope they will put ESPN radio on that station because if they want to compete with WPEN and WIP, they must get a better signal to cover the area better to start, 920 AM is not doing it for Nassau Broadcasting with their bad signal.

You do know I meant FM, right? It's gonna be alt-rock...not talk, sorry.

You're not simply talking about the re-license of that station (97.5), right? I know it's be re-licensed to Burlington, and it is going to broadcast from the WJJZ tower in Philly.... I thought that was old news, or are we talking about a format switch...

920 am is not a philly station christ how many times do we have to tell you

Although I would love to believe the poster, that said 97.5 will be Alternative Rock or maybe Active, (oh wow Active full time). I do not think Nassau would launch anything at this time, they will re-transmit from Mermaid Lane with the same format as they have now and sell it off. BTW, from a source I know who lives in the area, no not Gina who does live in the vicinity, there are no new bays on the tower as of Wednesday this week. It has to be 98.5 K Kountry, I also heard Press went to the FCC for power and height upgrade, this would make them a player in the Eastern Philly suburbs.

Guys and Gals... 98.5 WKOE is NOT a philly signal.... unless they move that tower to camden or King of Prussia... it's not gonna be a philly signal... and it's gonna have a hard time moving there because there's a 98.1 in philly... so their 60dBu cannot touch WOGLs 100dBu and vice-versa....

From a generic "brand new station coming soon" comes all this chatter. Sheesh. That's like reading your horoscope when it says "today, you will see a stranger". 98.5 a Philly station? About as much as KNBT's a Philly station. Who's excited?

Theres more R&B stations than anything else in the Phili area....

I havent been there in awhile, but when i was there 105.3 was a pretty good R&B station :) (WDAS)
