Brandon Leak is out at 790/The Zone

I have no details. Just informed that "Hometeam" Brandon Leak's name has been wiped off the Zone Web site. He had been on with Mike Bell and Chuck Oliver from 4 to 7.

Anyone have an info on the Tuesday announcement? I thought I heard they had an announcement relating to the Afternoon Saloon during the show at least.

Please, for the love of god, don't let it be Jamal "legend -in-his-own-mind" Anderson.

What did I learrrnnn while Jamal was subbing last week? I can't stand him.

If he becomes a station regular, I'll be gone for good. I hate Jamal that much.

Sort of off-topic, but does anyone know what Chuck Smith is up to? Is he doing the local TV gig this football season?

The mgmt at 790 is stupid enough to pry a third voice into the Afternoon Saloon again, but I sure hope not.

BTW: did anyone else see Jamaal on TMZ a few weeks back. He was in LA late night and so drunk he couldn't stand up. I mean, when you're as irrelevant as J.A. is from a celebrity standpoint and you end up on TMZ, you know you're wasted.

And nice line, Millman!

Ironic, of course, that Brandon cut have done updates for as long as he wanted to, before he joined the saloon. I dont know if that role at 790 is full-time/benefits but I give him credit for leaving 100% security for a better, albeit very risky, opportunity.

Boy, radio is a brutal business.

Brandon is gone, yet Sandra Golden stays on Mayhem? How she has a job in sports talk is beyond me.

Sandra is good on the air. She's certainly better than Brisket and The Rain Man anyway.

Did I miss something?

The "Biggest Announcment Ever" at 790 is David Pollock is joining the Afternoon Saloon.

That's it? That's all? A two week buildup for David Pollock?

You would have thought John "freaking" Madden was joining the show, the way they promoted this.

Yea, 790 got their own Buck Belue!

So what. It doesn't make the Afternoon Saloon any better.

Hilarious.

I'll be interested to hear the guy, although three people for sports is too many no matter who it is.

David Pollack to a show called The Afternoon Saloon?
Mike Bell talks about drinking, sexual encounters and off color humor. He is very funny doing it too.
Why would Pollack ever sign on for this stage?

Yeah, what a silly hire...

I mean, Academic All American, All American as a player, one of the more beloved players from the biggest football program in the state (including the Falcons), a high school All American from a local high school, and a high NFL draft pick that also has a contract with CBS to cover the SEC on their broadcasts.

I can't imagine why anyone would think that was a big deal. He doesn't seem at all qualified to be a sports talk personality in Atlanta.

It's a good hire. It's throwing him into the mix with Bell that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Put Pollack on with a true set up guy (Chernoff anyone?) ship Bell back to mornings where he belongs (provided you eliminate someone else from that cast) and see what happens.

It just doesn't seem like the Saloon is the fit for Pollack
