Hey i don't know if anybody else was listening yesterday afternoon, but i thought i heard mike brangifrote on there (formerly of waaf and wkkb) if he is on there, good for him, good to see him get back on his feet.

I knew Mike when he was at WCGY - we were at a Harvey Wharfield show at a club in North Reading - Kelley's.
Mike was dating a very pretty woman, his buddy was dating the
woman's daughter, the buddy took a look at the beautiful woman and said
"Are you ....ing (word deleted on advice of counsel, but it begins with F) her"
The mother of his girlfriend overheard it and walked up behind Brangiaforte's
friend and said "The answer is yes."
OOPS - no brownie points with the in-laws!!!!
Classic moment in Boston rock & roll.

It's Brangiforte.
He's working weekends at WHJY.
He refers to himself as "the new guy". Which, given his experience in this region of the country seems uneccessary.
I like Mike. We both started at 'AAF in '94 or so, and I remember when he worked at Strawberries in Burlington. He and Osterlind were pretty good friends. I think he was actually the WAAF Music Director for a while after John went to RKO. I'm not sure. I was in exile at time.
In any event...I'm happy Mike's working again. And quite frankly, thought he'd have been the perfect night guy for WHJY. I hear Quinn & Cantera worked for Laudani in Springfield.
It appears to be all about networking. Good for Mike. Good for them. Now we'll have to see if it's good for Providence.
As if 'HJY has any issues. They're one of the most consistent rock stations in America when it comes down to performance.

I worked there, and remember him as a van driver, then part-timer for CGY in late 91 or early 92(the Rock 93 days) not long before the sale to ARS. If the woman he was dating is who I think it was (she worked there too) he was a lucky man indeed. Glad he's doing well.

Sometimes there is more to being a good jock than what your on air personality is like, but also how you are off air. Although you're entitled to your own opinion i think mike is very solid on air, but he also a very nice guy and an awesome person to know. Not only was he a music director at KKB, he was also the music director for a while at WAAF, making him more versatile than most jocks, an dmaybe HJY considered that when hiring him.

There is more to being HIRED for a job than what you do on air I agree with you. You're always pro anything waaf, ALWAYS. That is your right but let Jamie Wolf have his opinion without your interruption as Mike B might be Mother Theresa off air but that has nothing to do with it so let people have their opinions and let their skill stand, or not stand based on that alone,....their skill. The problem is that everyone's personal politics color their opinions and very little is a reflection of someones ability. I dont think he's a great jock, I dont kknow him from Adam but whether he's a good person doesnt mean much when I turn on the radio and hear a break. as MD at waaf he didnt really hold his own post Osterlind's dep[arture either. Osterlind made that station hum and it lost it's entire vibe when he left. Osterlined was another one who was worthless on air but a great, GREAT MD.....in my opinion.
