Braves Future

"I like listing to WSB and not baseball games. There’s nothing more annoying then when they preempt the local programming for a baseball game."

Really? And what local programming would that be? Bortz? Not after 10a. Clark? Nope, National. Hannity? Not even close. Savage? Ha!

Baseball on WSB would be it's only local programming weekdays aside from Slade, Krok and 1 hour of Bortz.

Local? WSB is anything but.

Braves could be carried on Lite 94.9, with play-by-play and color commentary by Delilah for all the night games.

Post of the week!

As for the Braves leaving, don't count on it. There value is going down thanks to their 3rd place finish, being under .500 and lack of free-agent signings.

Since someone brought up the Falcons, Dave-FM must be kicking themselves on that one too.

I thinking this points to a bigger problem with sports programming; shelling out too much money for too little return. What GM/VP in their right mind thinks that by over-paying for the broadcast rights for a sports team will translate into increased ratings and revenue? Did CBS make their money back yet on 16-20 games per year? How about Clear Channel putting the Braves on a station (WGST) that none of their fans can hear after the game starts? Same goes for the Hawks and Thrashers. W.C. Fields was right, there's a sucker born every minute.

Gosh, you’re right. Boortz gets in his plane at 10:00 and flies to New York to beamed over the country. He never mentions anything going on in Atlanta. My ears have deceived me. Savage wasn’t on when the Braves were on WSB, Royal was.

Are you being serious or sarcastic? Boortz talks to much about Atlanta to be one of the biggest syndicated hosts. Notice how he doesn't have an affiliate in NYC, Chicago, or Los Angeles. Of course another factor is that he doesn't cave in to pressure to bash homosexuals and support initiatives barring them from marriage and he also believes in a woman's right to choose. Big of course Boortz doesn't care, in fact he praises the big whigs at radio companies that won't put his show on the air in their markets because they are acting on principle.
