Braves Radio Network after hours

Listening to my local Braves affiliate tonight, 1400 WCOS in Columbia, I was surprised when the satellite feed didn’t drop out after the game.

They started out playing several baseball themed songs such as “After the Boys of Summer” and then quickly transitioned into several 50’s and 60’s oldies and doo-wop songs. One of the strangest things they did was to play the German version of “I Want to Hold Your Hand” by The Beatles.

They did a final Braves Radio promo and a test of satellite tones before the feed dropped out at right after Midnight.

That must've been the board-op asleep again. So, I guess somebody needed to reboot the computer.

The satellite feed is usually up 24/7 during baseball season. It can get extremely repetitive but it is great way to let stations know the feed is working.
Does WCOS even have a board op on duty that late or was this an automation screw up?

I heard 96Rock the Atlanta FM Flagship Station is thinking about switching to an all german format including Polka Sundays so that might have been a studio test of the new Format.

That would work great since Skip Carey loves german beer. By the way, WCOS-AM in Columbia is automated during the Braves games. The rest of the day they have local "sports" announcers that either work for free or pay to be on the air, then turn around and sell their own advertising and pocket the proceeds. Every break starts with, "we'll talk about last night's baseball in a moment, but first, let me tell you about my good friend down at Ace Hardware".

I like the ole classic R&B hits. I found the Kiss 104 website and they had live streaming now. I miss it being on the network. WGST sucks...WGST doesn't know
what Pre Sunset-sunrise Authority means. Turn it down after dark!

> I liked the Braves Network better when WSB had it. Cox Radio
simulcast one of their stations before or after the game. I
liked Kiss 104.1 with the classic R&B. Kiss is streaming over their
website. WGST sucks. The board ops don't know what Pre-Sunrise Authority
means. It knocks out local stations on 640 trying to run LOW POWER. Turn
it down after dark!
