"Breaking Bad" *prequel* "Better Call Saul", greenlit by AMC

The NY Times and Variety note that negotiations with AMC and Sony Pictures Television (the production house for "Breaking Bad") wasn't as smooth as one would imagine, and the show was close to becoming a Netflix-exclusive.

Also, "Better Call Saul" (as pitched) is a *prequel* and not a spinoff of events after "Breaking Bad", all messing with fan theories of how Walter White & company potentially finish the show.

I don't know...part of me wants some form of Breaking Bad to live on, and I like Odenkirk as an actor very much, but Saul Goodman is a bit of a parody. Seeing a comedy spin off of BB would be too bizarre. And if they can't get Odenkirk to play the role, they should forget it.
