well said.

I think turning this thread into a "lynch Tom Scholz" discussion does an extreme dishonor to the memory of Brad Delp.

That topic is relevant, but might be better placed in a thread that might not be read by someone close to Brad who'd find it in extremely poor taste.

Just my opinion. I may be wrong. I just feel that an angry tone to this is bad form.

Tom Scholz and Brad Delp had a partnership - written or unwritten. Tom Scholz created Boston and Brad was the voice. None of these individuals had a manager on the level of a Tim Collins. With the platform Brad enjoyed his wonderful solo music should've been picked up by the labels. I was in the studio when Brad was recording his solo work in 1988 at Mission Control - I was managing the studio and the late Jimmy Miller at the time. Brad's solo recordings are amazing. I will be expanding on the greatness of those tapes and the pathetic state of the music industry - failing to put them out in a timely fashion. Just beautiful music by a highly recognizable voice. That's what Brad should have been doing, solo album after solo album, not playing in a cover band.

There were other people in Brad's life as controlling - if not more controlling - than Tom Scholz.Ask yourself if anyone else was tugging at Brad and look at the timing of the end and the fact that his secondary band didn't have their own website, it was directed to one band member's site to satisfy his own ego. Discretion being the better part of valor I have removed the post I have written but will probably write an article down the road. The individual in question was allegedly fired for control issues with another side band of another late Boston rock star. That person was allegedly fired soon after a gig they did with Dale Bozzio. I was the videographer for many of their shows and let me tell you it was just what i needed at the time.

I'm hoping that Brad Delp pulled a Jim Morrison. He was too nice a guy to cut out on his kids and fiance', and would only do that if he had serious depression. If Brad is still alive, well, it would be one of the greatest coups in the history of rock music. A big send off to both Tom and M--- with Brad becoming a bigger star (a la Eddy & The Cruisers) than both. That's my hope, of course. I hope Brad is alive.
