"If a radio or television host loses a job through economic layoff, is he or she still barred from taking a job with another local station because of a non-compete clause? Not as of Sunday, when a new law passed in the most recent session of the Legislature takes effect. According to the Washington State Labor Council, broadcast-industry non-compete agreements "are rendered null and void if the employee is laid off or is terminated without just cause."

Finally, some PROGRESS in Olympia (somewhere, not readily noticable, bring at least a magnifying glass..) But let the Captiol's dim light shine.....
